Overview
Sir John Bourn and Professor Stella Fearnley will discuss different ways of budgeting and the unintended consequences of different approaches to budget cuts.
This event is suitable for those involved with the preparation or application of budgets in the public sector.
Speakers
Sir John Bourn is a visiting professor at Bournemouth University and also at the London School of Economics. Until 2008 he was Comptroller and Auditor General for UK, and Auditor General for Wales. Sir John was also Chair of the Financial Reporting Council's Professional Oversight Board.
Stella Fearnley is Professor in Accounting at BU and a chartered accountant with an international profile in research and in contribution to public policy. She was awarded the 2007 Deloitte/American Accounting Association Wildman medal for her outstanding contribution to research.
